Depuis plusieurs années, Olivier Lovey conçoit des installations photographiques in situ à l’aide de collage de stickers pour l’espace public. Par des jeux de trompe-l’œil, de mise en abîme ou d’anamorphoses, l’artiste superpose le réel et son double photographique, cherchant à captiver le regard des passantes et passants afin de créer un léger trouble dans la perception de l’espace environnant. Le public est ainsi invité à porter un regard singulier sur une architecture ou un élément urbain familier. L’œuvre Camouflage s’inscrit dans cette démarche, dissimulant autant qu’elle révèle l’abribus et ce qui l’entoure.

For several years now, Olivier Lovey has been creating site-specific photographic installations using sticker collage in public spaces. Through trompe-l’œil, mise en abyme and anamorphosis, the artist superimposes reality and its photographic double, seeking to captivate the gaze of passers-by and create a slight disturbance in the perception of the surrounding space. The public is invited to take a singular look at a familiar architectural or urban element. Camouflage is part of this approach, concealing as much as it reveals the bus shelter and its surroundings.

Né en 1981 à Martigny, Olivier Lovey est diplômé de la formation supérieure en photographie de Vevey. Son travail a été exposé, entre autres, au Prix Photoforum à Bienne, au Prix Voies-off à Arles, au Prix de jeunes talents vfg ainsi qu’aux Boutographies de Montpellier où il reçoit le prix Réponses Photo. En 2018, il expose à la Biennale Images Vevey et est récompensé du premier prix des Swiss Photo Award dans la catégorie Fine Arts avec sa série Miroirs aux alouettes. Il expose l’année suivante au Festival de Photographie d’Athènes, au Festival Gibellina Photoroad en Sicile ainsi qu’à la Ferme Asile à Sion en solo. En 2020, il est l’un des 31 lauréats du prix Feature Shoot Emerging Photography Awards. En 2021, il reçoit le grand prix de l’Enquête valaisanne 2.

Born in Martigny in 1981, Olivier Lovey is a graduate of the Vevey photography school. His work has been exhibited at the Prix Photoforum in Bienne, the Prix Voies-off in Arles, the Prix de jeunes talents vfg and the Boutographies in Montpellier, where he received the Prix Réponses Photo. In 2018, he exhibited at the Biennale Images Vevey and was awarded first prize at the Swiss Photo Awards in the Fine Arts category with his Miroirs aux alouettes series. The following year he exhibited at the Athens Photography Festival, the Gibellina Photoroad Festival in Sicily and at Ferme Asile in Sion in a solo show. In 2020, he is one of 31 winners of the Feature Shoot Emerging Photography Awards. In 2021, he was awarded the Grand Prix de l’Enquête valaisanne 2.
